Summary
Toshiro is the son of Icylyn and Toshin Shigekazu. He inherited a fascination with swords and becoming a swordsman from his father at a young age. In his blood is the ability of a cryomancy from his father with a possibility of his mother having a dormant gene as well. He is a trained swordsman and along with Amane is one of the few people left in the Quadrants who can harness an element and has the Mark of Delta.

Toshiro as a child was timid and shy while lacking the determination to stand up for himself. As he got older, he became more aware of how he wanted to be as a person. He takes his studies seriously whether they be in swordsmanship, sewing, art, or cooking. After the incident in Yama Zengo involving Amane, Toshiro became cold and distant to his one friend to the point of abandoning him. His coldness was fueled by a fierce determination to bring his old friend to justice. Toshin's death caused him to become angry and hot headed while being manipulated by a dark power within his mind. When he started seeing more of Kitanni, some of his warmth came back but he was still struggling to figure out who he was again while also struggling with his growing relationship with her.

Toshiro uses three main weapons; two katanas and a red dagger given to him by Amane.

One of his katanas is from his ancestor Aurora and was once used to slay demons.
The second katana was his father's after he passed.

The dagger was given to him by Amane before he left for war.

He carried a third katana that belonged to Fujimoto after it was reforged.
The sword broke when Fujimoto died and he reforged it in town before leaving.

Toshiro, like Amane, is well trained in swordsmanship from his father as well as trained by Toru for a shorter amount of time. He knows hand to hand but isn't an as proficient as he is with a sword. His lack of skill in hand to hand combat are regulated with use of cryomancy to form stronger attacks and techniques to compete. His skill lies in techniques with or without a sword and prefers form over function. His desire to have form comes from his father's pushing him to strive in swordsmanship, cooking, drawing, and in any other aspects of his life.

Prelude to Vortex of Souls
Toshiro is a swordsman from Quadrant Three and the son of one of the clan heads in the city. His father is Toshin, who is strict but a powerful warrior. Toshiro grew up in Yama Zengo with Amane as his best friend. They were extremely close until training started which separated them a bit but eventually came back to be closer again by training with each other.
Toshiro got close to Kitanni after Amane left to join his father in the Civil War with their clan. They got very close and very quickly. When the time came for Toshiro to join Amane in the war, they parted on good terms. He went on his first mission immediately on his arrival. After this battle, Amane and Toshiro both passed out feeling sick from something. They had unlocked elemental skills with Toshiro unlocking cryomancy and Amane unlocking pyromancy
Following that incident, Toshiro with Amane and his father Fujimoto, went back to Yama Zengo. They separated and Amane went home to his mother while Toshiro and Fujimoto went to his home to see Toshin. Upon arrival to see Toshin, Toshiro and Toshin got into an argument and Fujimoto broke up. Feeling a deep pressure coming off from another area the three of them set out. When they arrived, they found Amane in a trance like state putting off immense pressure from his body. The three of them tried to stop him but they couldn’t overpower him in that situation. Toshin tried to use the cold stare and it didn’t work and Amane set the guy he was fighting on fire by just looking at him. Toshiro went home feeling sick to his stomach and not wanting to see this any more.
Doubt set into his mind and he started doubting his friend of so many years. That same night he was starting to be manipulated. Soon after during training with his father, Toshiro activated his Cold Stare instinctively and locked eyes with his father causing him to kill himself. A funeral was held for Toshin and Jade on the same day.
Toshiro became cold and distant and pushed his friend away while blaming him for his father’s death. Amane just said he forgave him and left on his exile. After a while passed, Toshiro was tasked with brining Amane back with help from the General who killed Fujimoto. He found him and challenged him to a fight only to lose. Kitanni found him and helped him get back to Yama Zengo.
From there Toshiro with Kitanni prepared for a few days before setting off towards Quadrant One to find Amane with a little help from an unknown source.
